Pro Shop Operators around the world have reached panic stages at the realization that Track Microfiber Cleaning Pouches will be in short supply in the coming weeks, as a container ship carrying the world-renowned pouches ran aground recently off the coast of Hong Kong.
“There’s no need for anyone to panic,” stated Track Brand Manager Paul Figliomeni. “We’ve placed another order and will unfortunately need to suspend the program until the new container arrives. In the meantime, we are making every effort to capture the escaped pouches. In addition, we’ve contacted the research teams at some of the largest detergent companies in the world, in an effort to salvage those we are able to contain.”
According to international news organizations, the container ship was caught in an unexpected storm when it was pushed by massive waves into a sand bar, causing damage to the ship and freeing thousands of newly made Track Microfiber Cleaning Pouches into the ocean. At press time, it was uncertain how many pouches had been contained and how many were still roaming the ocean.
The concern for Pro Shops is even greater. Few shops are even willing to admit their names publicly for fear of the backlash from their customers.
“My customers depend on those pouches to keep their equipment clean and well-maintained,” said one Pro Shop source. “What am I going to tell them now? They’ve come to expect that pouch to be there for them. How are they going to be their best if I can’t give them the cleaning pouches they need?”
Another Pro Shop Operator expressed fear at the prospect of trying to replace the pouches.
“I mean, it’s not like we can just go buy them somewhere,” he explained. “It wouldn’t be the same if it didn’t have the Track logo on it anyway.”
Figliomeni has a solution that he believes will help Pro Shop Operators and the Legion of loyal Track fans.
“Beginning July 1, 2011, any consumer who did not receive a Track Microfiber Cleaning Pouch with his or her Track bowling ball will be able to register on Trackbowling.com/offers for a special offer,” said Figliomeni.
“Thereafter, each week that we are not able to ship Microfiber Cleaning Pouches, we will select a name from the list to win a prize from Track. It’s the least we can do to ease the suffering of our Legion of fans.”
Pro Shop Operators should be elated by the offer of support from Track. Once the new shipment is received at the factory, new Microfiber Pouches will again be inserted into the box with every new ball from Track.
